ESS Foundation Pledges $50,000 to Northland Career Center
The ESS Foundation announced its commitment to support the Northland Career Center’s capital campaign with a total donation of $50,000 over the next five years.
The ESS Foundation is an ESS Companies (ESSC) employee-owner-led nonprofit organization committed to promoting careers in construction and providing opportunities for the future workforce. With this $50,000 contribution, the Foundation aims to support the Northland Career Center’s vocational education and the exposure to various construction careers it provides.
Shaping the Future
The Northland Career Center, a public, nonprofit career and technical education school located in Platte City, Missouri, is currently undertaking the construction of the Northland Workforce Development Center (NWDC). Located on a 19-acre centralized location near the Clay-Platte county line in the Kansas City metro area, the new, state-of-the-art career center will serve more than 1,200 students. This project aims to empower students with the necessary equipment, skills, and knowledge to thrive in today’s competitive workforce.
ESS Foundation Board Member Jessica Class recognized the pivotal role the Northland Career Center plays in shaping the future of the industry.
“We are thrilled to support the Northland Career Center’s capital campaign and contribute to the development of their new facility that will empower students to explore career opportunities,” she said. “The ESS Foundation invests in initiatives that foster growth for our future workforce, and we’re confident this partnership will have a meaningful impact on our community.”
A Shared Commitment
The donation was presented at a special ceremony on Monday, May 6 at the Northland Career Center in Platte City, with a ceremonial check presentation. This event served as a celebration of partnership and collaboration between The ESS Foundation and the Northland Career Center, highlighting their shared commitment to advancing education development initiatives in the region.
“We are grateful for The ESS Foundation’s generous donation to the NWDC capital campaign,” said Jeff Green, director of the Northland Career Center.
“This investment will expand educational and training opportunities for high school students and adults in the Northland, significantly adding to the region’s workforce and ensuring a continuous growth in skilled workers.”
